Dear Customers, Dear Friends,

Although one swallow may not necessarily make spring, the arrival of pumpkins in our windows is unequivocal. We are in the heart of autumn, with Halloween and its procession of skeletons, witches… and sweets for a deserved pause! Are you afraid of vampires? Rather than rush for a stake or holy water, you should choose from what our menu our menu by way of a dish delectably flavoured with garlic. No vampire will then dare come anywhere near you!

This period which seems to be so right for meeting with creatures from beyond the grave is also synonymous with the first school holidays. A well deserved rest for schoolboys and girls after two months of hard work! But it is also a harbinger of winter, the month of December and all its holidays: Saint Nicolas, Christmas or New Year’s, that bring to mind gifts, shopping, preparations and, of course, nice meals! And the key? This ever so unique end-of-year atmosphere that pervades the centre of the city and Chez Léon – an atmosphere with perfect proportions of excitement and a relaxed attitude.

And if you listen carefully, you will notice that the jangling of the chains that shackle the ghosts of Halloween has been replaced to advantage by that of the first oompahs of the Christmas market, which will this year be inaugurated on 27 November. All this reminds me how pleasant a place Brussels is to live in and to see come winter or come summer! Are you planning a visit on the spot followed by a meal Chez Léon? Then you should book a table at 02/511 14 15, because seats are getting dear… for those who want to enjoy good food!
See you very soon Chez Léon!

Kevin VANLANCKER

The crisis has hit everyone, including Halloween creatures.

On 31 October, attentive observers would have noted that more than one ghost was wearing a patched up sheet, while more and more witches forego mounting their brooms.

Are you frightened by Halloween and its procession of visions from beyond the grave?
You will find solace bearing in mind that Belgian restaurant owners have for too long been haunted by an even more frightful phenomenon…

During this Halloween period, some enthusiasts of this morbid atmosphere know that Anubis is the god of death.

Gourmets, on the other hand, will be more sensitive to the name of Anuga.
